Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does your price include insurance?
A: Full insurance is included in our daily price with a base excess of $2500. Quotes include a Damage Liability Fee of $450 (at a low $15 a day) which can be lowered to $0 for $25 a day.

Q: What about “extra” costs?
A: The daily price covers all charges, including administration fees, stamp duty, registration recovery,  GST, insurance, and credit card surcharges. The quote will also list requested items (such as child seats) and, if applicable, any delivery fee (for outside Noosa).

Q: Do you deliver and pickup?
A: Rent a car in Noosa or on the Sunshine Coast anywhere north of Mooloolaba and Noosa Car Rentals takes care of all the hassle of delivery and pickup of your late-model, automatic hire car – we bring the car to you and pick it up from you.

If you are staying at a resort we will meet you at Reception, escort you to the car, let you check the car, answer any questions you might have, sign you up (all we need is your signature) and wish you safe motoring.

If you are renting a holiday home, staying with friends, or living locally we will meet you at your front door and provide the same personal service.

Handover is easy. All necessary details are taken when you book with Noosa Car Rentals and delivery takes just a couple of minutes.

Delivery and pickup is free for those staying or living in Noosa Heads, Noosaville, Noosa Junction, Noosa Springs, Tewantin, Sunshine Beach, Sunrise Beach, Marcus Beach, Peregian Beach and Peregian Springs.

If you are staying or living at Coolum Beach, Maroochydore, or Mooloolaba and want to rent a car, Noosa Car Rentals will personally deliver and pickup for a $60 fee ($30 each way).

Q: Can I pick up the car at Sunshine Coast Airport?
A: Fly in to Sunshine Coast Airport and Noosa Car Rentals will get your holiday off to a hassle-free start. There’s no queuing to get keys and we don’t just hand you the keys and leave you to search for your car yourself.

We are there to personally greet you as you walk to collect your bags – just look for the person who will be holding a sign with your name on it. We will wait with you and help you with your luggage before walking to your car.

All the documentation will be done; you simply sign on the dotted line and drive away in your sparkling clean Toyota or Hyundai with everything taken care of.

If you are new to the Sunshine Coast or unsure of the best way to get to your accommodation, or simply want to chat about where to go and what to see, we will give you the benefit of our local knowledge which comes from living on the Coast for nearly 20 years.

At the end of your holiday, simply leave the car at the airport and take your flight home.

Charges for Noosa Car Rentals’ Sunshine Coast Airport Service are set at $30 each way and compare more than favourably with prices charged by shuttles and taxis. The service is available only for hires of 3 days or more.

Q: Can I leave the car at Brisbane Airport?
A: Sorry, no. We are Noosa-based and do not have branches or agents outside the Sunshine Coast.

Q: How far can I travel?
A: You can travel anywhere within a 300km radius of Noosa, which will take you south to Brisbane and Surfers Paradise, north to Hervey Bay, Bundaberg and Bargara or west to Kingaroy and southwest to Toowoomba.

Hires of 4 days or more come with unlimited kilometres within that 300km limit. For shorter hires, our generous free daily mileage allowance of 200km accumulates each day of the hire so, say on a 3-day hire, you could take the family to DreamWorld, MovieWorld, Sea World or Wet & Wild on the Gold Coast (a round trip of about 500 km) and still have 100km available for trips around the Sunshine Coast.

Q: How new are your cars?
A: Our cars are purchased new and kept for a maximum of 3 years so you are always hiring a late-model vehicle with low kms that’s under manufacturer’s warranty and gets regular dealership service.  The current fleet was purchased in May/June 2015. They are the best-value new cars on the Coast and mean you can plan any trip with confidence.

Q: Are your cars automatic?
A: All our vehicles are automatic and air-conditioned. Experience has shown that automatics are the vehicles that most customers are comfortable with.

Q: What safety features do your cars have?
A: Currently, we operate a two–brand, six-model fleet of the latest Toyota Corolla 1.8-litre 5-door hatchback, the Hyundai i30 1.8-litre 5-door hatchback,  the 1.3-litre, 5-door Toyota Yaris hatchback,  the Hyundai i20 1.4-litre 5-door hatchback, Toyota’s large Camry sedan and the Hyundai Ix35 5-door 2WD SUV. We choose Toyota and Hyundai because their award-winning vehicles have the latest safety equipment, are reliable, comfortable, simple to drive, with universal controls, and include features such as Bluetooth and USB connectivity.

Q: Do you supply baby seats and booster seats?
A: Yes, baby seats, either front-facing or rear-facing, and booster seats, either winged or a box booster, are available for a small charge that depends on the length of hire.

Q: How many people will your cars take?
A: The Corolla and i30 Hatchbacks have seating for 5, but more realistically will take 4 people and luggage. The Yaris Hatchback will seat 4 but is better suited to 2 people and luggage

Q: Can you help me plan any trips?
A: Of course. Noosa Car Rentals is owned and operated by Ron & Alison Higginbotham who have lived in Noosa for the past 20 years. We are almost as local as you can get and can give you all the hot tips on where you can go and what you can do.
